@zioibi I want more boarders; the more, the merrier. 🥳 So you’re very welcome to mention me with any questions.

@AoW Aha, that makes sense. You can create a custom theme for your blog and add the file that way. It’s not too intuitive, but once you edit a custom theme, you can create a new file by pressing New Template.

When asked to provide a folder and file name, enter content/podcast-feed.xml (you can name it whatever you want, but the content/ prefix should be there). Then paste the content of your XML file into the text area and hit Update Template. The feed will be available at https://your.podcast.example.com/podcast-feed.xml.

@vincent Oh, I have nothing against the top one. It’s cute and all. It’s just that I’m affected by a bug, so it’s always there (publishing changes or not). 😊

@manton Love the new status bubble! I’ve had the old version nagging me for the last couple of months. It won’t disappear. Now I have two. 😅

@zioibi Implementations are already popping up, actually. 😊 If you’re curious and want to look around, I’m hosting Robin’s client over at https://spring-83.pages.dev/client.

Go there, and you will see a couple of boards and RSS feeds. Then add other boards or feeds you want to subscribe to by pressing esc on your keyboard.

There’s nothing to download. Every change you make is stored locally in your browser.

If you want to create your own board, follow Robins instructions, but skip the first part about downloading the repository and starting a server. Instead, visit here to generate your keypair and continue from there.

Beware, though, I won’t host the client forever and ever. Make sure to save backups of your keypair and Springfile for easy migration the day I decide to shut down. 😊

@AoW Do you need that custom feed, or could you rely on the one that Micro.blog generates for you? For example, make a new post for an episode and include the audio like this:

> <audio controls=“controls” src=“https://your.cdn.network.example.com/episode-42.mp3” preload=“metadata”></audio>

The podcast.xml template should identify that post as a podcast episode and include it in the feed.

@manton 🎉 It actually features you as well. At least we are talking about you. How did it go this year? Did you unlock the 30-day Photo Challenge pin? 😊

@jean The pleasure was all mine! Thanks for a lovely time and for being such a great host. I know the episodes are supposed to be short and (mostly) about the guest. But I wish the audience could have listened in on our conversation after we stopped recording.

Micro.bloggers, let me tell you this: Jean is pretty badass! She’s involved in many fascinating projects, like James Dempsey and The Breakpoints.

There’s definitely room for a companion podcast. Micro Jean – 15 minutes of Jean every week. 😊

@mandaris This is just a friendly reminder that you should not install the beta after watching today’s WWDC keynote. 😉

@timapple The Russian company that owns the trademark was about to add telemetry and made changes to the terms and conditions that the community didn’t like.

@UndamnedOne Yeah, it’s a fantastic view and a lovely house. I recommend staying there for a night or two if you ever find yourself on Gotland. It’s called Kruthuset.

@timapple 😂 Oh, man, that’s super practical should I decide to join Anonymous. Then, I won’t have to buy the mask.

@maique I very well could be! Or a name tag for that tree. 😊 But, no, @odd is right. Behind the photographer (yours truly) lies lake Vättern, and the sign is a message to boats and other water vessels: “please don’t disturb the big cable on the bottom of the lake.”

@Miraz Oh, wow, that looks like fun! 🎵 I hope your future blog posts are accompanied by tiny audio clips with a fitting soundtrack. 😊

@jayeless Yes, fantastic work, and thinking about Per doing all that by hand makes me dizzy. 😅

@odd Yes, you can actually! 🤯 I was skeptical at first, but it’s pretty tasty. Oatly Havregurt went into the mix this time. Unfortunately, it looks like Norway only gets jordbær and naturell for some reason. No vanilje for you. 😭

@vincent Thanks for bringing us Gluon! It’s an absolute gem, and Hide replies is the best thing since sliced bread.

@uncertainquark You’re most welcome! It’s always a pleasure reading about people enjoying my plug-ins. Thanks for telling me. 🌝

@cn There’s a roughly 6 % chance for that to happen in just three clicks, so consider yourself lucky. 🍀 Maybe you should go and buy a lottery ticket today? 😉

@mymarkup Samma här! Det finns en handfull folk på nätet som verkar så där extra synkade med mina intressen och hobbyer. Och Robin är en av dem. Jag slukar det mesta han delar med hull och hår.

@bjhess Maybe it’s different for different users, but it’s roughly every five minutes for me. You can see when feeds are fetched in the logs.

@cdevroe Rek and Devine are Hundred Rabbits – a small artist collective living on a sailboat, primarily off-grid. Their output is so diverse and always a joy to indulge in. Books, games, software tools, recipes, guides on how to live off-grid, retro computing, and much more.

They also run webring.xxiivv.com, where you will find a bunch of humans that make stuff.

> This webring is an attempt to inspire artists & developers to build their websites and share traffic amongst each other. The ring welcomes hand-crafted wikis and portfolios.

@odd Ah, sorry, no. My rough sketch above is about adding support for webmentions and replying to blog posts where the author has no presence on Micro.blog.

@scojjac If you’re comfortable writing Go Templates you could create a Hugo shortcode to at least lessen the number of characters you have to type. So a reply could be entered, for example, like this :

> {{< reply “https://example.com/interesting-blog-post.html” >}}

@manton authored a similar shortcode for RSVPing.
