@jemostrom 😅 Jag jobbade runt det där genom att gå till Inställningar → Mastodon och sätta föredraget språk till engelska. Det verkar som att utvecklarna av appen av misstag märkt upp den finska översättningen som svensk.

@manton @ezellwrites Yes, it’s the reMarkable 2. I use it a lot for technical reading: papers, documentation, magazines, etc. And some note-taking and writing. A joy to use and very hackable. But not cheap. 😅

@amit Yeah, that makes total sense, and you’re right; changing a setting won’t get rid of prompts like that. I can’t say they show up much for me, but maybe that’s because I’m using 1Blocker.

@amit You can get rid of those permission dialogs by disabling support for notifications in your browser. In Safari, open Preferences and go to Websites > Notifications. And make sure to uncheck the box that says Allow websites to ask for permission to send notifications.

It works similarly in the other browsers. Open settings and search for notifications.

@odd Oh, thanks for the tip! It’s on my must-watch list now. My first color movie at a cinema was probably The Lion King in 1994. 😊 My first in almost B&W must have been Sin City in 2005 and then The Lighthouse, in pure B&W, a couple of years ago.

@matke There are a bunch of hidden gems in the accessibility section. One of my favorites is that the Apple logo on the back of your phone can operate as a touch button.

Double-tap the apple to:

  • Open the camera.
  • Toggle the flashlight.
  • Active silent mode.
  • Run a Shortcut that can do anything you want.

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap.

@warner Thanks for thinking about using my plug-ins. 😊 On top of mind, I can’t think of any significant side-effects with custom themes.

And they are easy to toggle on and off. So if it goes south, you can just disable the custom theme, and everything will be back to the way it was. So, it’s relatively risk-free.

Email obfuscation is definitely on the to-do list, but I don’t know when I will be able to work on my open source projects. Right now, I have to prioritize my paying clients. But, usually, I will get some time off during the summer and winter holidays.

@cygnoir My eyes might have got a bit misty as well. 🥹

@jean It’s never too late to start learning HTML, and, as it’s a constantly evolving language, the learning never stops. 🤓

@lmika You might want to check out Neocities – the spiritual successor to GeoCities.

@jayeless Weird, I got into HTML at eleven as well. Is that the perfect age to get started building websites?

@pcora Wow, that’s sneakernet in its purest form. 👟 I was fortunate enough to have FTP access to my first website.

@maique Comics is a great companion to the breakfast cereals/coffee/whatever. 😄

@artkavanagh @odd Yeah, the scrolling definitely took some getting used to. If you still want to read the story, there’s a transcript without the images.

@jemostrom Mys! Jag hade allt behövt ett skyddsnät ibland. 😅 Är det en kurs som du ska leda? I så fall är jag nyfiken på vilket språk du väljer.

@nielsk Haven’t played with that; looks nice, though! I’d love to hear how it works out for you, should you take the time to check it out.

@lyle Hmm, hard to tell if the cake is upside down or not. My guess is either 3 or 48. Probably the latter. 😊 Happy birthday!

@pcora Thanks for checking out my plug-ins. 🥰 Yes, the links won’t appear automatically; you have to add them using a custom theme. Installation instructions are available for both Reply by email and Conversation on Micro.blog. Let me know if you get stuck, and I will do my best to get you unstuck.

@canion There is no such thing as dumb user errors. 😊 Sqeueesing plug-in provided pages into the navigation is more challenging than it should be. @manton and I have brainstormed around the topic, and hopefully, this will be improved upon in the future.

@vincent Yeah, that’s stupid. 😊 You might be able to get rid of that behaviour by selectivly removing entries from the history. Open history (⌘Y), search for localhost:5000, select all entries and delete. That usully solves it for me when Safari suggest things I don’t want.
