@alienlebarge Oh, yes, GLHF! ✨

@Denny Well done! Caring for and repairing our things can be so rewarding. This summer, I managed to fix a broken robotic lawn mower using a salvaged wheel motor from another bot carcass. It felt amazing to see it come back to life.
@amit It’s a MINI Cooper SE, and yes, the round OLED display works perfectly as a speedometer—there are several styles available to choose from.
@Miraz Haha, exactly. Engage! 🚀
@DaveyCraney This turned out to be a performance degradation introduced in Safari 18 on iOS. Hopefully, Apple or the WebKit team will fix that in the future. For now, I’ve implemented a workaround in version 1.0.2. Navigate to the plug-ins page and tap the upgrade button, and you should be all set after Micro.blog rebuilds your blog.
@DaveyCraney No, but wow, that’s interesting and definitely a bug introduced in Safari 18 on iOS. It works fine on macOS, though. I’ve created an issue on GitHub and will look into this. Thanks for the report. 🥰
@jarrod My experimental feed is just Micro.blog’s original feed sprinkled with the conversation links. To avoid gaps, it’s up to Reeder to check the feed more frequently. Or, as @manton already pointed out, they could page back in history to fill gaps. At least in theory, but I see no next_url property in the feed. Does the timeline feed support pagination, Manton?
@AndyNicolaides In Photos on macOS, you can create a Smart Album filtered by a specific lens.
@Gabz 🥰
@heyloura Looking good!
@benbrown Me too!
@malveus Men va pinsamt, ingen vill ju tuta knasigt.
@SimonWoods The HTML Standard does not leave much room for interpretation when it comes to the alt attribute:
> A corollary to this is that the alt attribute’s value should never contain text that could be considered the image’s caption, title, or legend. It is supposed to contain replacement text that could be used by users instead of the image; it is not meant to supplement the image. The title attribute can be used for supplemental information.
@juha 🤩
@paulw There were a few things that bugged me, and maybe it tries a bit too hard to be like the first movie. But it was atmospheric, intense, and I enjoyed the ride.
@ctietze Could it be indexed as “plush toy” maybe? 😊
@dave Twitter-to-ActivityPub bridges, like bird.makeup, already exist, so the quickest way to get tweets on the Micro.blog timeline might be for @manton to ensure these bridges work with Micro.blog. For example, here’s Timothy Snyder’s Twitter profile on Micro.blog via bird.makeup. The profile shows up, but no posts are appearing. I’ve tried following Twitter accounts this way before, @manton, but the posts never fetch, so there might be a compatibility issue.
It would be really neat to have this working on Micro.blog. I’m currently following Twitter people via RSS, which I’m happy with, but it can be a bit overwhelming to see countless unread tweets when I open NetNewsWire. 😅
@rickardlindberg You’re very welcome! This post made my heart sing. 🥰 Growing up in the nineties, I learned web development the same way, and I still view-source on most sites I visit. There’s always so much to learn and, sometimes, interesting tidbits to discover. I love, for example, how Robin’s sites tend to have poems hidden away in HTML comments.
@Archimage I’ve hand-soldered the odd surface-mount device here and there, but never a single project with this many parts. When I design my own boards, I stick with through-hole parts whenever I can, precisely because I suck at soldering. 😋
For this project, I would probably go the reflow route using a solder paste stencil, with a high probability of messing it up anyway. 😊
@KimberlyHirsh Aww, this made my day. 🥰 Thanks for sharing!
@deandmx No, there’s no limitation; I just haven’t implemented support for that yet. 😊
@kottkrig Allt man behöver.
@rom There’s a getting started guide in the works, but no other how-tos that I’m aware of. I found the API documentation pretty good and also studied other connectors. The latest version of the developer tool, Tapestry Loom, is on TestFlight. You’ll find a link to it under the What to Test section for the Tapestry build, if that makes sense. 😊
@lmika Ecosia buys their search results from Google (and Bing), so you should still get Reddit hits in the future.
@Nifflas You can use - to exclude words and phrases: -"visual studio code".
@sarajw It’s not too bad, I’ve had two visits from mosquitoes so far. 😅
@jden Hmm, do you mean an explanation of the source code? No, I’m afraid not. There’s the getting started documentation, which is linked in the top post of this conversation. I’ve also detailed parts of the implementation in the past, through my posts and replies on my blog and over at the [help center](https://help.micro.blog/search?q=“search space”).
@iakonkret Det gör jag också. 😊
@gustav 😅
@gustav 🤔 Det är ingen dum idé.
@odd Yay! 🎉 And don’t feel bad; I enjoy figuring stuff out. 😊
@pratik In this case, we mean our replies to others.
@kottkrig @snowracer You see right through me, Johan. That’s precisely how I roll. 😋 Old versions of the now page end up as ordinary blog posts in the Then category.
@odd Hi there, neighbor. That’s an impressive number of replies! 😅 You’re probably affected by this change, which @manton rolled out recently.
@snowracer Mys!
